Ladies, what celebrities did your paper doll collection consist of?
Were there 'The McGuire Sisters' paper dolls? I had many paper dolls, but am having trouble remembering who was in my collection. Perhaps some of you ladies can jog my memory.
I now remember having the Lennon Sisters. We girls in the neighborhood had shoeboxes full of paper dolls and their paper clothing. On a Saturday afternoon we would gather at one of our homes and play for hours. We even designed our own outfits for them.
Restaurants & casinos gave these to kids while their parents gambled or we waited for our meals to be prepared. We traveled often & I had a huge paper doll collection. I also had real dolls that I took with me in their carrying cases. Paper dolls were something free & fun that we left when we were finished with them.
Magazines always had at least one paper doll cut-out within it's pages as a selling point!
Those things are worth a small fortune today.
